Do you have little kids and wish you could spend more time with them — without giving up your own dreams? Today, I want to share my story. Maybe you’ll see a little bit of yourself in it too. It’s a story about uncertainty, difficult choices, courage… and discovering that being a successful working mum doesn’t have to mean constant compromises.
My name is Martina, I’m 32 years old, and I’m a mum of two little kids.
About two years ago, my maternity leave was coming to an end and I found myself standing at a crossroads. “What now? What am I going to do? I want to be there for my children, but I also want financial independence and work that actually fulfills me.”
The idea of dropping my kids off at daycare every morning only to spend a couple rushed hours with them later honestly broke my heart.
But what was the alternative? A work-from-home job? But where would I even start?
For me, being a mum is life’s greatest purpose. Sure, not every day is easy, but my children will always come first.
I want to protect them, support them, and truly be there for them. And no, that’s not just something people say. Children’s Day is coming up, and every year it makes me pause and think: Are my kids happy? How can I make them smile more? How can we create even more memories together?
The nerves before the first school day. The evenings spent chasing monsters out of closets. Family adventures in nature. Those moments matter to me more than anything — and I want to experience them fully, every single day.
That’s exactly why joining ESSENS became one of the best decisions of my life. Because family isn’t something holding me back. My family is my motivation to move forward.
It actually started with a funny coincidence. One afternoon, I was sitting at the playground with a friend while our kids played in the sandbox.
